The University of Malta Academic Staff Association (UMASA) wishes to express solidarity with MUT and its members over the recent actions taken by MCAST in issuing a temporary prohibitory warrant. Collective bargaining and the right to call for industrial actions are fundamental pillars in collective labour organisation. This unprecedented move against the collective organisation of educators is deeply alarming and UMASA expresses its support with its colleagues at MCAST and supports the MUT in the exercise of their legal rights to manifest dissent.
